I know.. when I first heard this I was thinking.. yeah right! But it is completley legit and the company has actually gotten great reviews! So if you are needing some new frames but don't want to drop a lot of cash, check out this website. There are several different price levels.. oh and keep scrolling, they acually have some really cute ones!
Only downside is you can't try them on, but if you are like me and glasses are just sort of a back up, this is perfect!

It's Friday!!
Well first I just have to brag a little bit! My husband and I just received 104 movie passes good through September 2010! We are so pumped!
A local movie theater was doing an awesome promotion today! The first 100 people dressed up as movie characters received 52 free passes (1 a week for a year basically)! Of course Matt and I did get up at 4 am this morning and did wait in line for several hours but hey.. I think it was totally worth it!
Another good deal going on today is Chipoltle gives out free burritos on Halloween. The only catch... dress up like a boo-ri-to:) Last year I just wrapped a little foil around my wrist and that passed, so no need to go ALL out or anything! Just double check w/ your restaurant before going.. I called and the free food isn't starting until 6 pm tonight.
OK.. now on w/ my traditional Friday post, a recipe!
This week I didn't really cook hardly at all. (That is all changing this next week, I have a great menu planned and a grocery list all written out. I will be at the store tomorrow!) I did however make a pretty yummy chicken tortilla soup. It is SO simple, a lot of stuff right out of a can but still tastes really good!
1 cooked chicken breast, shredded
2 cans rotel
1 can corn (drained) or mexi-corn
1 can black beans (drained)
1 package rice (cooked)- I usually go for a southwestern mix
chicken broth- I have a box of chicken broth so I just kind of eye ball the amount to see how much I need for the right consistency.. if you were using cans I'm not sure.. 1-2 depending how thick you like your soup
Mix all together until hot. I like to top mine w/ chips or toasted tortilla shells cut into strips, sour cream and shredded cheese.
I also cooked my chicken breast just like I did the crock pot chicken (posted below) and then just added in the rest after the chicken cooked. But its whatever you like!
Enjoy your Friday!

My thoughts... Marriage
Marriage has been on my mind a lot ever since watching the movie "Fireproof" over the weekend. I am so blessed to have Matt as my husband, we truly are best friends. Sure we have our disagreements, but I've been blessed in the fact that even when we do we are always able to talk through things and work them out.
One thing Fireproof made me aware of was the fact that even though I've been married for close to four years now (which I know in the real scheme of things, isn't all that long!) I still need to get back to the basics of truly treasuring my husband. Do I do things for him on a daily or even weekly basis that show him I love him? That is a challenge that I'm putting out there to everyone including myself. I thought it was great in the movie that when Kirk Cameron's character finished the 40 Day Love Dare book, he started over...
Let your spouse know that you care about them not only by words but by your actions. It seems while dating I was constantly sending Matt notes or planning special things for the two of us. I'm going to try and continue that trend.
Marriage truly is a gift from God and not something to be taken lightly. Like was shown in the movie Fireproof, love is not merely an emotion, it is a decision that we need to make everyday.
**One thing that Matt and I have been doing for probably close to a year now is spending time reading the Bible together every Wednesday. We usually go to Starbucks, mainly because we tried to do it at home and we would always end up getting distracted; going somewhere really makes it an actual "appointment" for lack of a better word. We have gone through various books of the Bible together. I think that it has really brought us closer together and I have learned so much as well. I always look forward to Wednesdays.

Movie Review: Fireproof
My Weekly Plan
Goals for the Week:
daily quiet time
read 2 chapters in my book
finish laundry that I started last night
create grocery menu for next two weeks and pair it w/ coupons
plan nursery lesson for church prior to the weekend!
stay on budget
work out 3 times this week
schedule Aldo a hair cut for next week
schedule Matt's dentist appointment
Menu:
This week I am trying to not spend money on groceries by clearing out the freezer. Here's what I'm thinking...
Monday- meatball subs ( we didn't end up having them last week) w/ veggies and salad
Tuesday- leftovers or sandwiches- Matt will be at school
Wednesday- my Omaha steak burgers arrived so I am thinking we will grill out! I'll have to see what I have in my pantry for a side dish.. probably some sort of veggie again
Thursday-chicken tortilla soup w/ cornbread, although by Thursday night I will probably be hitting up the store either before or after dinner for the weekend!
Friday- out
~Breakfast is usually either cereal, toast, yogurt w/ fruit or once a week I try and do a hot breakfast of eggs, oatmeal or biscuits. Oh and there is always coffee:) Matt makes that though! Lunches always consist of either leftovers from the night before or sandwiches.

Crock Pot Salsa Chicken
Yes.. it is really that simple... and sooo good!
I'm all about easy, fast dinner ideas... and I love making use of my crock pot. There really is nothing better than coming home to dinner ready to go.
Simply put your desired amount of chicken (Matt and I used 1 double breast) and then I dumped in a can of rotel. You can use salsa also. If for instance you did two double breasts you might want to do 2 cans of rotel.
If you cook on low, you will probably need to cook 7-8 hours, on high 3-4. The chicken comes out so tender and juicy! If you prefer you can add in a can of black beans or corn.
When I do this chicken I usually just make tacos out of it, or you could just eat it over rice, make enchiladas or even add it to a chicken taco salad! So many choices.. so easy!
By the way, with Matt and I using a double breast we came out w/ a lot of leftovers.. We are pretty big on leftovers over at our house!
I did actually take pics of our dinner. I will try and post later.
Have a great FRIDAY!!

My thoughts for the week...
Last night I went shopping. I love to go shopping as I sure many of you do. It is always fun to get new things. I had to exchange a pair of jeans at JC Penny's and so while I was doing that I saw on a rack a sign advertising shirts for $2.97. $2.97!?!!? Are you kidding me!?! Well, of course I had to go look.. then all of a sudden I was in the dressing room trying on probably half a dozen different tops. I settled on only two, knowing that I really didn't need to be spending money.. even if it was such a good deal. The rest of the evening though I felt very dissatisfied.. I still wanted more. (might I add I had just been shopping w/ my mom and bought a pair of jeans and 2 shirts that weekend)
I look around at work and see people in all of their cute "work" outfits.. I want more work outfits.
I go to other peoples houses and see all of their nice furniture/ cute decorations... I want new furniture and decorations.
I see on all the food blogs that I read all of these fancy kitchen gadgets and platters... I want new things for my kitchen.
I want.. I want... I want...
After my shopping trip I spent some time in Borders reading my Bible. I came across these verses...
Luke 12:15
"Watch out and be on guard against all greed because one's life is not in the abundance of his possessions."
12:20-21
"But God said to him, You fool! This very night your life is demanded of you and the things you have prepared- whose will they be? That's how it is with the one who stores up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God"
Since I missed Monday...
My goals for the week:
~These goals aren't always serious, they are just things that I would like to get done over the course of the week.. things I need to remember to do.. things I want to do...

Plan of Attack for my Blog
Well, in order to try and post more often I am going to try to dedicate different days to different types of posts. I figure this way my blog will have more of a theme/purpose and it will help me have ideas of what to write about!
Monday- Goals for the week/ Weekly Menu (Every week I put together a list of goals that I need/want to accomplish over the week. I will post them along w/ my dinner menu for the week.
Wednesday- My thoughts... ( I will post on what has been on my mind, what the Lord has been speaking to me about, what I have felt convicted about, or maybe even a post of encouragement.)
Friday- Food Friday!- recipe post from something I have made this week (hopefully w/ pics!)
Also, I am all about deals/bargains! In fact today I just got 20 Omaha steak burgers for $1.98!! I will post when I hear about deals so that you can hopefully score a bargain as well!
I will also try and post pictures more frequently of what Matt and I are up to:) I know at least my mom will enjoy those!
Well there you have it.. my plan of attack. Let's see how it goes!
