I can't believe that today is July 22nd! Crazy how fast this summer has gone. I am thankful that the heat isn't really hitting until now.
This past weekend was great. Matt and I spent lots of time together. We went and saw Batman (which was awesome!), did some shopping at the Legends, went to the City Market and breakfast w/ friends, went swimming, got some things accomplished and spent time at home relaxing.. can't get to much better. :)
This week is a busy one, especially for Matt. A mission team from Arkansas is in town working on the building that we are meeting at for church. They are helping re-roof and do inside painting. We are very thankful to them for coming up here to help. We hope to get a lot done in these next few weeks before our offical first service!
I dont get to help a whole lot seeing as how I have to be at work this week. It makes me a little sad, but I have been going to have lunch w/ them which is nice to see what they have been working on throughout the day.
Well.. this wasn't an overally exciting post, but just thought I'd give you a glimpse on our week.
Hope the rest of your Tuesday treats you well:)

It was one of "Those" mornings
Tired..
running late...
not feeling well...
house a mess...
couldn't decide what to wear...
forgot to get some things at the store for dinner (planned on putting in the crockpot all day...
now have to go on a short lunch break and hope dinner gets cooked...
couldn't find shoes that I needed for work...
walked out the door- forgetting my breakfast...
ya.. it was one of those mornings
On the postive side?
My husband was home!(he wasn't supposed to be last night)
I got to go visit my friend and see her baby for the first time last night.. soo cute!
Last night Matt and I went to Dairy Queen and got their new Thin Mint Blizzard.. wow.. delicious!!
Today's Wednesday..half way through the work week!
We are going to have a good dinner tonight, once I go to the store!
Wednesday night is Bible study night for Matt and I. A special time for us that I always really enjoy...

Yea.. Today's Friday! (Sort of..)
Happy (early) Fourth of July! I'm soo glad that today is the end of the week. There is nothing like a long weekend. We are headed to Wichita to spend time w/ family and friends as soon as I get off work at noon!
Last night Matt and I were at Starbucks doing our Bible Study together. We have set aside Wednesday evenings to study and discuss God's word together. We usually begin w/ thoughts and questions that have come up during our own personal devotional time w/ God. One thing that stuck out to me this past week was found in James 5:17-18.
"Elijah was a man with a nature like ours; yet he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the land. 18 Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its fruit."
(referring to 1 King 17)
I was so convicted by the words "he prayed earnestly" and that he was prayed with full conviction. In 1 King 17 it says...
"Now Elijah the Tishbite, from the Gilead settlers, said to Ahab, "As the LORD God of Israel lives, I stand before Him, and there will be no dew or rain during these years except by my command!"
Elijah fully trusted and believed that God would not send rain. When I pray do I fully trust and believe that God will answer my prayers? I dont know that I always do. Prayer is so easy to just become somewhat monotonous.. I pray for my family, I pray for my sick friend..
I need to pray as Elijah did..

Slowing things down
My car has this problem. Sometimes when I am trying to start it up, the security light starts flashing and basically freezes the car from being turned on. The only way to remedy this situation is to turn the key to the on position and wait for 10 minutes so that it can reset itself. This always causes me great frustration and usually puts me in a not so great mood. This morning, as I was hurrying to get to work, my car chose to give me some extra time to myself. Normally this would have made me very upset and it did for a minute or so. But, then I chose to take the 10 minutes and focus my attention on the Lord, lifting up prayers and praise to Him.
Let me just say I am a thankful that my car slowed me down this morning.
